Welcome!

We welcome all newcomers and visitors to our congregation.
Please Introduce yourself to Father Smith, presiding clergy or the ushers this Sunday. Ask for and fill out a Visitors Card so we may send you news about St. Michael's. Children are welcome to attend services, and do not worry if they make joyful noise to the LORD.

Casa Maria Schedule

Note: for privacy and security reasons, contact phone numbers of individual parishoners are generally not given in the online versions of parish announcements. Please check the printed church bulletin or parish directory, or call the church office for contact info.

Weekly announcements have been moved to the St. Michael's news blog:
http://smaa.blogspot.com

Project Star Fish ~ we have asked that you make a small daily sacrifice and donate that money ~ perhaps $.50 a day.  Our goal is to raise enough money in this way ~ about $2,000 to build a house in Haiti.  It is not too late to make your donation.  There is a basket at the back of church to receive your donations.  If you prefer. place your donation in an envelope and simply drop it in the collection.

Please join us for refreshments and fellowship in the Parish Center following the 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM  Masses.

Make your everyday purchases at Safeway and Alberson's add up to $$$ for St. Michael's!
Safeway:  Join the "eScrip" program that will contribute up to 8% of your Safeway purchase costs. Log on to www.escrip.com, enter St. Michael's Group ID #9607798, and register. If you don't have online access and want to sign up, please call or stop by the church office, and we will do it for you. Your Safeway club card will then activate funds to St. Michael's whenever it is scanned at the check out.
Albertson's: St. Michael's has additional Albertson's Community Partners cards, in the church office. Here is how this works: present your Community Partners card to your cashier each time you shop at Albertson's, and remind your cashier to scan your card any time during your order.
These are excellent ways to help bring funds to St. Michael's Church!

St. Michael's has an arts blog for parishioners' art, photos, essays, poetry, meditations, prayers, etc. Check it out! Better yet, contribute! The web address is http:/smaaarts.blogspot.com. Please email your contributions to Karen at mavarin @ aol.com.

Calling all Parishioners! You can help build this website!  The parish webmaster is looking for material for the ministries and community web pages. If you are involved in any of the parish's ministries and activities, please consider writing a paragraph or two (or more!)  for the website. Also, photos, photos, photos!  If you've taken pictures of the church or any church-related activities or ministries, please consider sharing them online. Contributions can be e-mailed to mavarin @ aol.com, given to Karen after any Sunday 10 AM Mass, or dropped off at the church office.

Consider remembering or honoring that someone special. The Book of Pipes brings you the opportunity to remember or honor a special person.  Purchase a Pipe at $100 a pipe and receive a beautiful certificate.  Brochures are available on the ushers’ table.

Mass for Church Unity continues every Friday at 12:10 PM.   All are urged to attend as we pray for Church Unity.

Labyrinth meditation walk with Fr. Smith every Tuesday morning starting at 8:00 AM.

Bring in your old cell phones, hearing aids, and glasses and place them in the basket marked phones, hearing aids & glasses, located at the back of the Church. ECW will collect these items to help raise money for Pima Council on Aging’s programs and services.

General Mills and Campbell labels and used postage stamps needed! - ECW is collecting these items to benefit Southwest Indian Schools.  Stamps should be left on the envelope paper with at least a 1/8 or 1/4 inch border around the stamp.  A large envelope is located at the back of the church in which to place these items.

GUATEMALA PROJECT

New web site!
http://www.cprguatemalaproject.org

What makes Guatemala Project unique? Flexibility, continuity, the fact that almost all monies are spent in country, among the poorest of the poor, and the collaborative nature ‑ in‑country funds are administered by the Mayan people we serve. Accountability is very good ‑ we review hundreds of receipts every year.

Please see the Ministries page for an updated history of this project, and the main BlogSpot page for photos.

St. Michael’s Guatemala Project is an ongoing, non sectarian informal partnership with the Maya of the CPR Sierra [Communities of Population in Resistance of the Sierra] that continues a relationship begun in 1993. Focus areas include community health and health education, advocacy, arts and culture, mutual learning, and commitment to indigenous self determination.
